About This Workbook:

If you’ve ever been unsure of what strumming pattern to use for a song, or how to turn strumming into fingerpicking, or what to play when there’s no guitar part written, or even if strumming has just never felt comfortable, I made this for you.

I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years. I’ve worked with students who have a natural sense of rhythm and students who have really struggled. No matter where you’re starting from, you can become a really solid, confident rhythm player. It just takes 1) good playing technique, 2) good practice technique, 3) an understanding of the musical job you’re doing, and 4) a willingness to work. If you can provide number 4, this workbook will provide the first 3. They’re all learnable skills.

When you finish this workbook, you should be able to listen to most songs, hear the important rhythmic moments, and create a strumming or fingerpicking part on the guitar that complements the music and suits your style and ability.
